Shreyas Gopal, Born in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on September 4, 1993, Ramswamy Shreyas Gopal has developed into an accomplished leg-spin all-rounder renowned for his tactical accuracy and poise under duress. Born into a family steeped in athletics, his mother, Amitha, played volleyball for Karnataka, while his father, Ramaswamy Gopal, played club cricket for more than 20 years.

After attending The Frank Anthony Public School and going on to Jain University to get a B.Com., Gopal combined his love of the game with his academic emphasis. As a child, he even imitated Anil Kumble's bowling motion because he always idolized spin greats like Kumble.

Domestic Bases & Initial Achievement

After making his Karnataka first-class debut in 2013, Shreyas Gopal quickly shown himself to be a reliable leg-spinning all-rounder. He established himself as one of India's most potential domestic players with his breakthrough performance at the 2014 Irani Cup, where he claimed a hat-trick against the Rest of India, the first-ever hat-trick in the history of the competition.

Gopal has consistently performed well in the Ranji Trophy during his home career, honorably serving Karnataka. He has demonstrated his worth as a true all-rounder throughout the years by contributing both valuable lower-order runs and crucial wickets. In 2011, he also played for India U19, winning accolades at the junior level and competing in youth-level ODIs.
