On June 6, 1988, Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane, was born in Ashwi KD, a hamlet in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Rahane, who stands 5'6" (166 cm) tall and weighs about 60 kg (132 lb), is renowned for his serene manner and traditional batting style.
Early Life & Family Roots
Born into a lower-middle-class Hindu Maharashtrian household, his mother Sujata was a homemaker and his father Madhukar Baburao Rahane was employed by the Maharashtra government. Since the family values caution and modesty, information regarding his younger brother and sister is kept under wraps. Under instructor Pravin Amre, Ajinkya started training in Dombivli when he was seven years old. He honed his technical skills on difficult matting wickets.
After completing his studies at Dombivli's SV Joshi High School, Rahane went on to earn a Bachelor of Commerce before focusing entirely on cricket.

On August 31, 2011, Ajinkya Rahane made his debut for his country in Twenty20 cricket against England. He then played in ODIs on September 3, 2011, and Test matches against Australia on March 22, 2013. In his career, he has produced three ODI hundreds and achieved 12 Test hundreds, including his top Test score of 188. In the 2014–15 Border–Gavaskar Trophy, he had one of his best international performances, drawing similarities to Rahul Dravid for his batting style.

Rahane started his IPL career in 2008 with the Mumbai Indians. From 2011 to 2015, he made a career-changing switch to the Rajasthan Royals, where he established himself as a reliable top-order player. After playing for the Rising Pune Supergiant, he rejoined the Rajasthan Royals. In 2020, he joined the Delhi Capitals, and in 2023 and 2024, he joined the Chennai Super Kings. In 2024, he also played for Leicestershire.
Rahane was named team captain in March 2025 after being purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹1.50 crore at the 2025 IPL auction. As a result, he became the first Indian cricketer to captain three separate IPL teams: the Rising Pune Supergiant, the Rajasthan Royals, and now KKR.
